Day 4 – Mindful Waking
For today’s daily mindfulness practice, dedicate a few minutes to observing how your body feels when you wake up. The goal is to start your day with awareness and gratitude.
Here’s how to practice mindful waking:
- Pause Before Rising: As soon as you wake up, resist the urge to jump out of bed or reach for your phone. Instead, take a moment to be still and present.
- Notice Your Body: Observe how your body feels. Is there any tension, warmth, or a sense of relaxation? Notice the rhythm of your breath as you wake.
- Stretch Gently: If it feels comfortable, stretch your arms or legs slightly. Pay attention to how your muscles respond and how it feels to move after resting.
- Feel Your Surroundings: Notice the texture of your sheets, the warmth of your blanket, or the coolness of the air. Engage your senses to ground yourself in the present.
- Set an Intention: Before getting up, take a deep breath and think about your intention for the day. What kind of energy or focus would you like to carry forward?
